Opencast is the video management solution for the digital teaching and learning landscape of the HU and is operated as a Moodle plug-in. Teachers can integrate video material directly into their courses with the Moodle plugin and store it there for course participants. The videos are played directly in Moodle, a previous download is no longer necessary. The streaming player ensures that authors retain control over their content.

With the integrated, web-based Opencast Studio, teachers can produce video material such as screencasts without additional software.

Application scenarios

  • Multimedia teaching content for digital teaching
